17 Thoughts That Go Through My Mind As I Cut My Birthday Cake & Literally Everyone Will Relate

Many of us share a love-hate relationship with our birthdays. It is the only time of the year when your parents are overly nice to you, your friends get after you to throw a party and your workplace feels slightly more tolerable.

You feel like a star! But like any other star, you have your awkward moments too.

One such moment is standing there in front of the cake with nearly a dozen of people standing around you, singing ‘happy birthday to you..’ I think it is hands down the most embarrassing moment of the day. You’re left wondering how you should react. I know I feel it.

I felt the needed to put my thoughts out in the open and see if you feel the same! So here are some funny thoughts that run through my mind as I’m cutting my birthday cake.

1. Is someone going to smash the cake on my face?

12. Never mind, I’m single this birthday too!
13. Oh no, I am a year closer to my death. Yay me!
14. But I can’t wait to count the money dada dadi gave me!
15. The person standing next to me is singing too loudly.
